About this Role

Help spread the word about Humanists Australia. As a volunteer Marketing Team Member, you'll support HA's efforts to reach new audiences and grow awareness of what it means to live a compassionate, ethical, and fulfilling life without religion. You'll contribute to marketing campaigns, help develop promotional materials, and bring fresh ideas to how HA presents itself to the world, all from home, with flexible hours that fit around your life. Working alongside a warm, collaborative team and reporting to the Marketing Coordinator, you'll gain real not-for-profit and marketing experience, free HA membership, and references to help you land your dream job. If you're creative, proactive, and want your time to make a lasting difference, this is your chance to help build a more humane Australia, one campaign at a time.

Objectives

  • Increase awareness and understanding of HA and humanism among the general public

  • Support consistent, effective marketing across HA's campaigns and channels

  • Help grow HA's reach to new and diverse audiences

Key duties

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of marketing campaigns

  • Help design and develop promotional materials (e.g. flyers, graphics, newsletters)

  • Research audiences, trends, and opportunities to inform marketing strategy

  • Support the Social Media Coordinator and Video Editor with marketing content as needed

  • Assist with tracking campaign performance and reporting on outcomes

  • Contribute ideas about marketing strategies and campaigns in online discussions with other team members

Skills and qualities required

  • Proactive and self-motivated

  • Strong written communication skills, with a creative eye for messaging and design

  • Interest in or experience with marketing, branding, or campaign development

  • Good technical skills. Our technical stack includes Zoom, GSuite (Google Drive and Gmail), and Slack for instant messaging. Training will be provided as required.
