About the Role

Humanists Australia is seeking a motivated and highly organised Volunteer Coordinator to help us grow and nurture our dedicated volunteer team. At Humanists Australia, we empower Australians to lead ethical, compassionate, and fulfilling lives without religion across various programs including campaigns, ceremonies, community building, and wellbeing care. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our mission. In this role, you will be the welcoming connector for new volunteers, ensuring they are engaged, supported, and ready to make an impact. Key Objectives

  • Advertise available volunteer roles to attract passionate and aligned individuals to our programs.

  • Deliver a smooth onboarding experience for new volunteers, ensuring they feel warmly welcomed into the HA community.

  • Keep our team engaged and motivated, actively fostering a positive volunteer culture.

  • Maintain, update, and organize critical volunteer records effectively.

Skills Required

  • A high level of self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with potential and current team members.

  • Strong organizational abilities with demonstrated experience in structured record keeping.

  • Good technical skills, specifically proficiency using Google Workspace (Google Docs and Google Sheets) for program administration.

  • A friendly, encouraging demeanor that motivates others and builds rapport.

  • Desirable: Prior experience working effectively within an online, remote team.

  • Desirable: An understanding of humanism and Humanists Australia's values.

  • A good internet connection

  • Availability for a weekly online meeting
