Email Campaign Manager

About this Role

Help Humanists Australia stay connected with its community through email. As our volunteer Email Campaign Manager, you'll plan and send email campaigns that keep members and supporters informed, engaged, and inspired, sharing news, events, and stories relevant to people living compassionate, ethical, and fulfilling lives without religion. You'll manage our email lists, craft engaging campaigns, and track performance to keep improving how we communicate, all from home, with flexible hours that fit around your life. Working alongside a warm, collaborative team and reporting to the CEO, you'll gain real not-for-profit and email marketing experience, free HA membership, and references to help you land your dream job. Objectives

  • Grow engagement with HA's email campaigns (open rates, click-throughs, and responses)

  • Keep members and supporters consistently informed of news, events, and campaigns

  • Maintain clean, well-segmented email lists to ensure the right people receive the right content

Key duties

  • Plan and build a regular email schedule (e.g. newsletters, event announcements, campaign updates)

  • Write and design engaging email content using Supporter Hub

  • Segment email lists appropriately to target relevant content to the right audiences

  • Track and report on email performance (open rates, click-through rates, unsubscribes)

  • Work with the CEO and other team members to gather content and align email campaigns with broader HA activities

  • Test and refine subject lines, content, and send times to improve engagement over time

  • Provide updates on email campaign performance for monthly board reports

  • Contribute ideas about email strategy and content in online discussions with other team members

Skills and qualities required

  • Proactive and self-motivated

  • Strong written communication skills, with an eye for clear, engaging copy

  • Good organisational skills, able to manage a regular sending schedule

  • Good technical skills. Our technical stack includes Zoom, GSuite (Google Drive and Gmail), Supporter Hub for email campaigns and supporter management, and Slack for instant messaging. Training will be provided as required.
