Membership Manager
About this Role
Become the welcoming heart of Humanists Australia. As our volunteer Membership Manager, you'll be the friendly first point of contact for members who share a commitment to living compassionate, ethical, and fulfilling lives without religion. You'll welcome new members, keep our community thriving through renewals, and help grow the movement, all from home, with flexible hours (just 3 to 7 per week) that fit around your life. Working alongside a warm, collaborative team and reporting directly to the CEO, you'll gain real not-for-profit experience, free HA membership, and references to help you land your dream job. If you're proactive, a strong communicator, and want your time to make a lasting difference, this is your chance to help build a more humane Australia, one member at a time.
Objectives
Increase the number of members who renew their membership after their credit card expires
Reduce the number of members who are not in good standing financially
Grow our membership base
Key duties
Monitor the team.ha email address and answer enquiries from members
Send new member welcome packs by post monthly
Notify members of upcoming annual payments
Contact members with failing payments to encourage them to renew
Provide statistics on membership numbers for the monthly board reports
Work with the CEO and other team members to inspire people to become members of HA
Contribute ideas about any of our programs in online discussions with other team members
Skills and qualities required
Proactive and self-motivated
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good technical skills. Our technical stack includes Zoom, GSuite (Google Drive and Gmail), Action Network for membership management and Slack for instant messaging. Training will be provided as required.
