About this Role
As the Ceremonies Program Manager for Humanists Australia, you will play a vital role in shaping how non-religious Australians mark life’s most significant milestones with authenticity, warmth, and care. This is a unique opportunity to build and support an inclusive, nationwide network of deeply empathetic, value-aligned celebrants who help people celebrate love, welcome new life, and bid meaningful farewells. By leading this program, you will be championing ceremonies that replace religious ritual with deeply personal narratives, ensuring that everyone in our community has the chance to honor life's journeys in a way that brings our shared human values to life and truly reflects who they are.
Key objectives
Bring qualified, values-aligned celebrants on board our celebrants listing website
Bring people seeking ceremonies to our listed celebrants
Build a community of Humanist celebrants
Main tasks
Work with our marketing volunteers to deliver marketing campaigns that bring celebrants and people seeking ceremonies to our celebrants listing website
Verify the qualifications of celebrants and help them onboard the celebrants listing
Gather monthly engagement related metrics, and report to the CEO and board on progress of the program.
Manage the budget for the program, including seeking fundraising opportunities
Contribute to program related strategy, process and policy documents, including design and implementation of streamlined verification, onboarding, and induction processes.
Work with external stakeholders on developing opportunities for collaboration and partnerships
Contribute ideas about any of our programs in weekly online discussions with other team members
Essential Skills
Marketing and fundraising training or experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strategic planning
Self-motivation and enthusiasm
Good technical skills. Our technical stack includes Zoom, GSuite (Google Drive and Gmail), Squarespace and Bubble for web resource development, and Slack for instant messaging. Training will be provided as required.
Desirable Skills
Experience as a funeral and/or wedding celebrant
Understanding of Humanism and Humanist values.
Experience working as a volunteer or with volunteers
Experience working with an online team
You will need
A laptop or desktop computer
A good internet connection
Availability for a weekly online meeting
