Terms and Conditions of Membership
By accepting membership of Humanists Australia, you are confirming that:
You will abide by the Humanists Australia code of conduct
You agree to comply with the Humanists Australia constitution, including paying the guarantee of $1 in the event that HA dissolves while in debt.
Humanists Australia is a registered Charity structured as a Company Limited by Guarantee.
A Company Limited by Guarantee is a type of public company registered under the Corporations Act 2001 (Corporations Act). Like all other companies, Companies Limited by Guarantee must comply with the applicable provisions of the Corporations Act. They are formed on the principle that the liability of members is limited to the amount they agree to contribute if the company is wound up. This amount is typically nominal ($1 in our case) and set out in the company's constitution. Companies Limited by Guarantee cannot pay dividends.
Terms and Conditions of Donations
In donating to us you are agreeing that while we will endeavour to use the donation for the program or community you have nominated, we have discretion to redirect the donation to another area if required.
